Ghana with a five star performance beat Madagascar 3-0 at Le Grand Stade d’Al Hoceima in Morocco on Monday evening to continue their fantastic winning streak form in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Head coach Otto Addo made two changes to the side that beat Chad 5-0, Jerome Opoku and Abu Francis started to replace Inaki Williams and Ernest Nuamah. Ghana played a 3-5-2 system that made the defense and midfield very compact.
Black Stars started the game very well and their early pressure fortunately gave them a goal in the 11th minute.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey climbed the highest to score Jordan Ayew’s perfectly-delivered free-kick past Madagascar goalkeeper Geordan Dupire and give Ghana an early advantage.
Ghana kept pressuring the Barea’s with Kudus Mohammed and Jordan Ayew missing a few chances in the first half.
In the 53rd minute, Partey added the second, heading another Jordan Ayew delivery from a corner kick to extend Ghana’s lead.
The Black Stars continued to press, and Kudus sealed it at 3-0 with a good finish after a good pass from Jordan Ayew, marking a hat trick of assists for the captain.
Madagascar did their best to trouble the defense line, but the Ghanaian defenders were very resolute at the back with Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare giving good instructions to the defense and making a good save in the 79th minute.
This win is a big moral boost for the players, team and country especially since they were unable to qualify for the 2025 AFCON.
The win extends Ghana’s lead in Group I and they lead with 15 points with second placed team Madagascar having 10points.
