As the curtain falls on the 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League season, Hasaacas Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies will once again contest the league crown at the Sweredu Stadium on Sunday 19th April.
Zonal champions Hasaacas Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies will be meeting for the second time this season, having previously faced off in the FA Cup quarter-finals where Hasaacas Ladies secured a 2-1 victory to progress to the semi-finals.
Hasaacas Ladies powered their way to the Southern Zone title with an impressive 40 points from 18 matches, recording 12 wins, four draws, and just two defeats.
The Sekondi-based side have been defensively solid all season, conceding only six goals while scoring 22.
Goalkeeper Grace Banwa has been outstanding, topping the clean sheet chart across both zones with 12.
In attack, Millot Abena Pokuaa and Anita Kwarteng led the charge with four goals apiece, while the team amassed 12 Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards, with Comfort Owusu and Abiba Issah claiming two each.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies on the other hand, topped the Northern Zone with 37 points after 11 wins, four draws, and three defeats from 18 matches.
The Techiman-based side boasts one of the most potent attacks in the league, scoring 45 goals, though they conceded 22. Leading their charge is poster girl Ajegipena Zakaria, who netted 13 goals and picked up four MVP awards.
She will be ably supported by Victoria Banful, Priscilla Okyere, Linda Owusu Ansah, and Mariam Olawumi, all of whom contributed significantly to the team’s goal tally. Ampem Darkoa also recorded 12 MVP awards over the course of the season.
The Swedru encounter will be the seventh time the two clubs will be meeting in a league decider since the introduction of the Women’s Premier League.
Hasaacas Ladies will be chasing a sixth title, while Ampem Darkoa Ladies are determined to clinch their fifth crown.
